Now what? They’ve removed the crazy from Gurenn Lagann and with that effectively removed any appeal the series had for me. The prospect of sitting through the rest of the episodes watching Simon “grow and mature” shounen style feels about as exciting as watching paint dry. Throw in a romance between Yoko and him and we’ve reached absolute rock bottom. On the brighter side, at least I’ll have an extra 20 minutes each week from now on.

Did you drop it after all? If you did, I think you are loosing out…

I did finish it actually and I think it was pretty good although it did falter a lot the closer it came to the end. It felt like they just went more and more extreme just for the sake of it and it just got repetetive after a while. I also thought they handled the death of pretty much the whole support cast like a pile of crap. I didn’t feel a thing as one after the other got killed off. I still think that killing Kamina was a cheap way to try an add some drama and depth to an anime I consider to be deep as a puddle. :)

Something to say?
